Roberto Ferri

Roberto Ferri was born in Taranto in 1978 where he graduated from Lisippo high school (Art Institute) in 1996. He began to study painting at first as a self-taught person and, after moving to Rome in 1999, he deepened his research on ancient painting from the early ’16 century till late ’19 century. In particular he devoted himself to Caravaggesque and academic painting (David, Ingres, Géricault, Bouguereau, etc.)
In 2006 he graduated with honorus (cum laude) from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome specialising in Scenography.
These are the years when the artist starts successfully, whose works are now present in the most important collections in the world, public and private.

Exhibitions: The Italian Cultural Istitute in London; Vittoriano Museum Complex in Rome; Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome; Kasteel Van Gaasbeek, Bruxelles; participation in the ’54 Venice art Biennal; at the Biennale arts  in Rimini; Kitsch biennale in venice and EXPO, Milan, etc.
His paintings have been part of the film by Marco Bellocchio “Blood of my blood” and in the second season of the television series “Gomorra”.
In 2014 he was responsible for carrying out the official portrait of his Holiness Pope Francesco.
